March MAT-ness Pilates Challenge

Discover the mind/body connection and power of mat Pilates exercises with millions around the world when we launch March MAT-ness on March 1, 2026. Mat Pilates ATX has three days a week of mat Pilates all month long.


March MAT-ness is a grassroots online event created by renowned instructor Benjamin Degenhardt in 2012. March MAT-ness shines a light on the simplicity, specificity, and strategy of Pilates, 34 original bodyweight exercises pictured in Joseph Pilates' book Return to Life Through Contrology nearly 100 years ago.


How to Participate in March MAT-ness!


  1. Attend Mat Pilates ATX class on Tue/Thur. Your first Mat Pilates ATX group class is free when you sign up here.


  2. Watch the mat Pilates exercise of the day posted on our social media between March 1 - 31.


  3. Share our Mat Pilates ATX "March Mat-ness" Instagram posts or your own video and tag @matpilatesatx #marchmatnessatx


  1. Enter to win prizes when you share your March MAT-ness Bingo card with us.



Want to go deeper in mat Pilates?


Our March Mat-ness 4-week Class Series starts Friday, March 6 at 7:30 a.m. CT.


Each week we focus on 10 exercises, and in four weeks, we'll do all 38 in one class. Class is limited to four participants.


Our south Austin group mat class learns and practices many of these exercises every week on Tue and Thur at 7:30 a.m. at the Circle C Community Center. Every student gets a March MAT-ness Bingo Card in March.


Whether you want to start slow or go deep, Pilates' "March MAT-ness" can jump start the journey! Join the March MAT-ness challenge and do one exercise or variation each day, all month long!
